This creative set of interview pod casts is for The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). An independent agency that safeguards standards in UK universities and colleges by conducting reviews and publish reports. A QAA review will highlight good practice and offer recommendations of where to improve quality.
One area the QAA reviews is the Access To Higher Education Diploma. These college run courses enable people coming back to eduction, often much later in life, to gain the qualification needed to go to University. An Access course will give people with very little formal education the academic skills and experience needed to successfully get a degree.
The QAA wanted a set of ‘Personal Portrait’ films of different people who have been through an Access course. Each one is built around an Intercast interview and then supported by character shots of the person involved. As the stories are about people’s educational journey they run at about three minutes long. We filmed them in locations relevant to people’s stories, often the college where they did their access course or the University they studied in.
